Le communiqué précisera que même les manifestations sensées se dérouler pacifiquement peuvent se transformer en confrontation et dégénérer. Elle recommande, également aux citoyens US, de rester à l’écoute des bulletins d’informations locales et de réorganiser leurs activités en conséquence.

Demonstrations are expected to take place today in the vicinity of the U.S. Embassy, and the security situation remains fluid. Media reports also indicate that demonstrations may take place in the Kasbah area in central Tunis. The U.S. Embassy remains open; however, access to the area around the Embassy may be restricted due to the demonstrations. If the security situation requires further changes to the availability of public services at the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy, updates will be posted on the Embassy website: http://tunisia.usembassy.gov.
U.S. citizens should remain cautious and avoid areas where large gatherings may occur. Even demonstrations or events intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and possibly escalate into violence. U.S. citizens in Tunisia are urged to monitor local news reports and to plan their activities accordingly. U.S. citizens should review the current Country Specific Information for Tunisia.
